Team Smoke Bud Cheats to Win Golf Outing

September 13th, 2006 Team Smoke Bud consisting of Joey F.V. Sal Karim, Seth Karim and Jeremy Campbell cheated their way to victory at the 'Bulldogs' Golf Outing III. Although they took home the grand prize, it ended up costing the team one of their fastest (but cheapest) players. Campbell was given his unconditional release the following day as an investigation was opened into his fraudulent activities.

Other than cheating at the outing, the police are also looking into allegations that Campbell wrote several bounced checks and embezzled money from the 'Bulldogs' trust fund. Phone calls from the 'Bulldogs' front office, have not been returned. This morning, GM Alex Martinez released the following statement:

Be advised that Jeremy Campbell has been released for the upcoming ASHL season as well as ALL Bulldogs tournaments, events and functions effective immediately. The pending investigation into his illegal activities would have been a distraction for the entire team this season so I felt this was for the best.

Despite the weather, the 'Bulldogs' showed up for a fun day of golf. Everyone behaved and focused on golf, unlike the 'Fiasco in the Ghetto' outing earlier this summer. The teams were divided by skill level and set to tee off from the appropriate tee box. The tournament was fairly close until Mr. Campbell's team cheated to gain the advantage and win. The final results:

Team Score        +/-                Players
Team Stud  77 +6  Darren Diamond, James Senne, Eric Carr, Mike Montague
Team Crud  78 +7  Maher Karim, Mike Mancuso, Jason Darfler, Sam Karim
Team Elmer Fudd     74 +2  Alex Martinez, Alex Martinez Jr., Bill Nolan, D.J. Nolan
Team Smoke Bud    73 +1 (pending investigation results)

Jeremy Campbell, Sal Karim, Joey F.V., Seth Karim

For the individual awards, Seth Karim won for longest drive at 260 yards and Bill Nolan won for longest putt at 15 feet. No one won the closest to the pin award as all 16 players failed to land on the green.
