The season might have ended for the Bulldogs, but that
is not the case for the Bulldogs front office as they
now prepare to implement changes, subtractions and
addition for the upcoming 2006/2007 season in the AHSL.
Internally the Chicago
Bulldogs promoted Maher Karim to Assistant General
Manager. "This was a easy move" said General Manager
Alex Martinez, "Maher has been taking on allot of
responsibly off the ice and this is just a reward for
his hard work". When asked about an increased in pay,
Martinez refused to comment on the subject.
With only days into his new
role Karim was very instrumental in signing former Mt.
Carmel hockey and baseball stand out Joe Koehler to a
one year deal.
The 6"0, 185lbs., Koehler
is just what the Bulldogs needed this off season. "He's
a good player that can play both offense and defense"
said Karim "He will surely make an early impact for us.
Koehler only made a brief
comment as he was boarding a plane to take a Physical in
London, England stated, "Yea, I told Maher I was in for
sure, and why am I boarding a plane to see a Dr. named
Feeney?"
Other additions was Jason
Darfler returning as a Player/Coach to get the Bulldogs
back into shape for what appears to be a very long
season. Darfler who along with James Senne have been in
hiding in the past few weeks. They have also been on the
butt end of jokes and being hounded by the
paparazzi still answering questions on what really
happen in Japan and their Hog Heaven Hoe-Down.
With the addition of Darfler, Senne and now Koehler, the Bulldogs roster
appears to be full. Some players have been re-assigned
to Reserves as they recover from minor injuries and
personal obligations.
