Changes for the 2007-2008 season |
|

August
21st,
2007-
Today the Chicago Bulldogs held a
press conference at their Executive office's to make
some announcements and also answer some lingering
questions about the upcoming 2007-2008 season.
Several people
from the media along with some surprise guest were in
attendance.
In an opening
statement General Manager Alex Martinez shocked most
when he announce the retirements of both Jason Darfler
and James Senne.
"Today it is a sad day for the Chicago Bulldogs
organization. Not only will we be losing good friends,
but also good players, who have been with this team for
a long time. I wish both Jason and James good fortune in
their futures"
Vladimir Konstantinov
who was in attendance as Senne's guest tried following
up with Martinez's statement, but he had trouble saying
"Ga Ga" after the "Goo Goo". Senne who was in tears the
entire time, muttered to Vladimir, "I always protected you
man, I always did, sniff, sniff".
Darfler was
quiet for the entire press conference.
James #22 will
be ending his Bulldogs career with 13 goals, 39 assist
and 106 penalties minutes in 87 games played.
Jason #88 will
be ending his Bulldogs career with 70 goals, 42 assist
and 208 penalty minutes (All Time Record) in 82
games played.
After the
initial statement on the Bulldogs retirements,
Martinez continued on by announcing the signing and
return of Darren "Papa Smurf" Diamond, who has lost way
to much weight and is looking to gain it all back
playing for the Bulldogs in the Fall.
The final
piece of news was that the Bulldogs will be playing for
Hockey North America for the 2007-2008 season. This also
is a surprise as the Bulldogs have always played in USA
Hockey leagues in the Chicago area.
"We are very excited to be playing in a premier league
such as HNA and look forward to an exciting 2007-2008
season."
