After
the game six Bulldogs (Alex Martinez, Bill Nolan,
Darren Diamond, Mike Mancuso, Joe Van Grimbergen and
Ryan Scanlon) packed their gear and headed to
Wisconsin to play in the USA Hockey Pond hockey
tournament.
Driving six hours, the Bulldogs made it just in time
to play their 1st game of the tournament (11am, they
arrive a little past 10am). With planning strategy on
the fly the Bulldogs would win their 1st game over a
team from Wisconsin (Plant Managers) 16-3.
Game
two was better, as they had a few hours to not only
plan, but also use the toilet and drink some beer and
try to recuperate some of their strength.
With a strategy now in place the Bulldogs easily beat
another team from Illinois (Wings) 18-7 and found
themselves 2-0 and excited to have a chance to move
on.
Alex Martinez who plays goal, shinned in this game,
falling only a dozen times and scoring some goals.

The third
game was critical as they needed to win to guarantee
them a spot in the Quarter Finals seeing that another
team was also undefeated. With their backs to the wall
and still hung over and tasting ol Jack from the night
before, they beat a team from South Carolina
(Shockers) 15-10 with little problem and were now
moving on to the Quarter finals.
The
Quarter finals outcome would determine if they would
party hard that night, or go home early and prep for
the Semi Finals. Well, it was not in the cards and I'm
sure the Hockey Gods knew the Bulldogs to well as they
wanted them to party.
The Bulldogs
would make it close, but lose in the Quarter Finals to
a team from Boston (BA Sports) 16-9. Its rumored that
BA Sports, video taped several Bulldogs games and walk
trough's and currently under investigation by USA
Hockey. BA Sports also ended up taking the
Championship back to Boston.
Exhausted
from their long trip and not a bad showing in the
tournament the Bulldogs went back at it this past Sat
night playing The Fighting Squirrels in league play,
but not before supervising the Chicago Bulldogs 2008
Puck Bunny Photo shoot before the game.
Thanks to
Jeff Krich (Bulldogs team photographer) and Model
Photographer Pat O'Brien, the Bulldogs officially
started a local Puck Bunny contest in which one young
lady will get a chance to win a trip to Las Vegas.
More information on the contest and Puck Bunnies to
come.
Back to league play, the
outcome was devastating for the Squirrels as the
Bulldogs won 15-2. The Game was not close and the
Bulldogs made every effort in trying not to run up the
score board, but at the same time, come on, I mean we
had the luck of the Irish Photographer and also the
fresh scent of the Models who just whore some of our
jerseys. So you can imagine, the team was feeling
good.
The Bulldogs
remain undefeated in DAHL action at 4-0-1 and are in
1st place in the standings.
Next for the
Chicago Bulldogs is on Saturday March 1st, 10:30pm @
the Darien Sportsplex vs. team Paladium.
