Penalties... the Bulldogs never ending story

 GAME RECAP

January 26th, 2005 – FYI, it's really getting harder and harder to write a post-game summary when the same shit is happening week in and week out.  So I can't really say much about the game other than we played, we lost; we went to the locker room for beers. The Chicago Bulldogs had a difficult time getting into the swing of things for their second game of the season against All In and drop their first of the season 4-2.

The Bulldogs had their chances; especially early in the game, but just weren't able to capitalize.  Several power plays for “All In” and a few hit posts, not to mention some dumb penalties, really put the Bulldogs in catch up mode through out the game.

Also, I feel obligated to commend Jason Darfler and Joey F. V. on a game well played. Not only did they hustle throughout the entire game, but they also were vocal on the bench. In addition to letting everyone know that penalties are b/s in close games, Joey also stated in the locker room that he can take out Derek Desjardins anytime anywhere.

Other bright spots were goals from members the unknown club, Mike Mancuso who scored in the second period and Maher Karim who took credit for a questionable goal that appeared to have been scored by James Senne.

Finally, everyone knows the story about Samson and Delilah, right?  If you don't, here's a quick bible class for you... basically, Samson had supernatural strength which was directly related to the length of his hair.  Once that beeyotch, Delilah, cut his hair, Samson was weak.

The point I'm trying to make here is that just as there is a correlation between Samson and his hair, there also seems to be one with our goalie, Alex Martinez and his Stench.  Near the beginning of the last season, The Stench was much weaker and his goals against average suffered for it.  But as the season has progressed, The Stench has grown much, much stronger, to the point that it overwhelms the dressing room, and quite possibly the opposition, as his play has gotten better and he keeps us in the game for a much longer duration.

Fortunately for The Bulldogs I don't think that there is a Delilah in Bulldogs Goals' life.
So, if we can keep him from washing his equipment for a little while longer, we may once again have a chance at becoming EAHL Continental C- Division Champions!

That is, if we don't die from The Stench first.
