April 5th,
2006-
This past Friday (March
3)1 at the Edge in Bensenville the Bulldogs took on the
White Eagles in the first BHL playoffs. Early in the day
White Eagles captain called the league commissioner
trying to get the game rescheduled because of a sick
goaltender.
The
commissioner could not reschedule and the league states
that all players must be on the roster and have played 4
regular season games.
Following the rules the game went on.
The
Bulldogs came out strong in the first period scoring
three to the White Eagles 2. Sam Karim played a great
game all around, advancing the puck into the zone and
back checking. Sam brought his lumber to the game,
knocking the White Eagles goalie down twice, once for
an easy goal. Darren Diamond played a strong game
scoring two goals. The White Eagles were surprised that
a little guy could move so fast.
Now the
Bulldogs will look forward to their toughest game of the
season, trying to give the Bandits their first BHL loss
in the championship game. Coach Jason Darfler told
reporters at a Monday press conference, We will have to
play a flawless game. We can not afford to turn the
puck over, and we must stop the Bandit breakout. The
championship game will be played at the Allstate Arena
on April 8th.
The
Good:
Darren Diamond
finally scoring when it counted
Solid Defense,
especially in the critical moments late in the game.
The
Bad:
-
Goalie Air Guitar for the 2nd week in a
row.
The
Ugly:
-
The
White Eagles trying to bend every rule and perhaps
playing one of the dirtiest seen in a long time.
