BHL playoff preview promises a heated game

 GAME RECAP

BULLDOGS White Eagles Date/Time Rink
3 6 03/23/2006 The Edge

March 24th, 2006- It was the final game of the inaugural BHL season for the Bulldogs The night before they had let the Jets win their first game in the BHL. Tonight the Dogs came out loose and ready to play. The game was off to a bad start.

The Dogs quickly gave away three goals in the first but that did not stop the Bulldogs. They fought back, kept moving the puck and most importantly back-checked.

Despite their efforts the Bulldogs could not take the lead for the win. Both teams played hard and there were words between the two teams.

Late in the game James Senne and the Polish Maher were seen fighting at mid ice. Punches were thrown as the two were separated,  “I don’t know why James was so mad. He doesn’t even speak Polish so how did he know what he was saying?”  Joey V told reporters.

The two teams will meet in the first round of the playoffs. The winner of that game will go on to the championship game at the Allstate Arena in Rosemont.

“We have worked too hard to let the championship go to another team. We need to play as a team in the playoffs if we plan to have a chance.” Sal Karim shouted in a post game meeting.

The BHL playoffs are April 30 and 31 with the championship game April 8th.

The Good:

  • The Bulldogs started back-checking finally. There were turnovers and forced bad passes by the White Eagles.

The Bad:

  • Alex’s rendition of “Sweet Caroline” and impersonation of Vin Diesel’s shotgun in the locker room.

 The Ugly:

  • The Bulldog’s six game loosing streak.  It hasn’t been this bad since Cornis and Arnie were on the team.

Player of the Game:

Joey F.V.......... This cool Cat currently leads the Bulldogs in goals, assist and points, but he also leads the way throughout the BHL. His game day performances along with his leadership has really been a positive this season.
