Bulldogs slip, but don't fall...

 GAME RECAP

BULLDOGS Cobras Date/Time Rink
6 6 01/26/2006 Hoffman Estates

January 31st, 2006- The Bulldogs were hoping to extend their win streak to three as they played the Cobras for the second time this season at the Hoffman Estates Ice Arena. However the Bulldogs faced a bigger and more aggressive Cobra team this time around.

Jeremy Campbell was missing for the first two games but stepped it up for two goals in the first. Also missing was Maher Karim. Karim has been missing allot of hockey this season while rumors continue to spread that he is moonlighting at Hunters swarms. Another absent was Darren Diamond and Bill Nolan and they were well missed.  At the end of a hard fought first period the score was 5-1.

Most hockey teams would play a steady game and try to retain the lead but the Cobras fought hard. The second period gave the  Cobras a power play and the Bulldogs were able to kill the penalty, but this is where the 'Dogs would start to slip.

The third period was not pretty for the Bulldogs.  The Cobras would  score goal after goal. The cobras were crashing the net and the Bulldogs could not keep them out.  The puck was in the Bulldog zone and could not be cleared. The Bulldog bench was stressed and players were seen criticizing the other lines. Ever game this reporter has seen, when this happens the team falls.  Coach Jason Darfler spoke to the press after the game, "Our breakout is starting to work but we need to work on our team morale. We get down on ourselves and start to loose our focus and the game slips away."  At the end of the game the Bulldogs tied the Cobras 6-6.

The Good:

  • Offense: The Bulldogs are getting the puck into the net, breaking out and moving the puck.

The Bad:

  • The Bulldogs struggle to clear the puck from the zone, and getting bodies out of the crease.

 The Ugly:

  • Michael Zweig, Rene Rabiela and the Storm Hockey team.. these bozo's not only failed to pay the BHL their league fee's, but also decided to quit. Michael Zweig who is an Attorney (don't hire him) and a former Army Officer, should be embarrassed and ashamed for pulling out and having no legit excuse in doing so. Him and his the Storm are what is wrong with Adult Hockey today and they represent all that is dishonest.

Player of the Game:

Jeremy Campbell.: After two games off coming back to score two goals.

Next up: Friday Feb. 3rd, 2006 at 10:30 vs. the ‘White Eagles’ (The Edge Ice Arena)
