This week it could have been anyone on the Bulldogs. Martinez played solid, John Farias and the other "D" played great and the forwards like Scanlon, Joey FV and Mike Farias all contributed, but in the end, it goes to Joe Koehler, game winner in overtime.

 GAME RECAP

BULLDOGS GHOST Date/Time Rink
3 2 12/16/2007 The Edge Ice Arena

December 18th, 2007- Before you know it will be Christmas and the Chicago Bulldogs are starting to look good.  I think every Bulldog is trying to be like every child in the world right about now.  You all know what I mean.  Come the beginning of December, as children, we all realized that Santa would be coming in a few weeks time.  And it hit us that if we wanted any presents from the Big Guy we needed to be good for the rest of the month and hope that Santa would forget the first eleven months of the year. Well the same applies to the Bulldogs as they beat the Ghost 3-2 in overtime.

The Bulldogs are hoping that their winning ways will look good to the Big Guy so that he'll reward them with a even better season come the new year.  (Oh, please Santa. All we want is to win it all once again just one more season!!!!)

This game was a lot closer than it should have been for the Bulldogs.  With close to a full team going up against Ghost and their slightly shorter bench, the Bulldogs had a slight advantage, you might think. Ya, that’s what I thought too.  But every time the Bulldogs put the pressure on and scored a goal, the Ghost would come right back, put the pressure on the Bulldogs   Back and forth, back and forth for three periods.

With the score at 2-2, the Bulldogs either said enough was enough or the Ghost's short bench finally caught up with them and the Bulldogs pressed and won the game 3-2 with one second left in overtime.

So, Santa, as I speak on behalf of the Chicago Bulldogs, we are trying our best to play smart and fair and with good nature towards all our opponents this season, hoping that maybe you will bring the Bulldogs that beautiful Championship Cup.

P.S. We'll be leaving you some of those famous White Castle sliders, a pitcher of beer and $60 in singles for you up in  Uncle Paulie's Bar on Christmas eve, cause we know you'll need all that after all the work.

Notes- The Chicago Bulldogs will be moving on to another league in early 2008. HNA was great, but it seems the league is not right for us.

So we want to thank all the people who attended our games and announcements on the new league to come in the next few days. Thank you- Bulldogs Front Office

The Good:

  • Offense: Though not allot of scoring, the biggest thing these guys did was control the puck, back check and cover.
  • Defense: Solid... only 3 "D", but managed to stay tuff and clear the zone.
  • Goaltending: Good enough, Martinez held off the rush and attack in over time and made the saves when it mattered the most.

The Bad:

  • Subs: MIA as usual... will be release in the days to come.

 The Ugly:

  • none
