 GAME RECAP

BULLDOGS Palm Beavers Date/Time Rink
6 3 03/07/2008 Darien Sportsplex

March 10th, 2008- The future of the Chicago Bulldogs is starting to look bright as it appears to be one of the better season's in their 4 year franchise history. Ted Markos scored his 3rd and fourth goal of the season and Dan DiFatta notched his 3rd  in only two games since his promotion from the minors, sparking the Bulldogs to a 6-3 victory over the Palm Beavers this past Friday night and improving 7-0-1.

"The play of some of our younger people has been pretty special this season. And maybe it's pushing some other guys," assistant Captain Tony Feeney said.

"Obviously we knew we were going to have a big crowd tonight since there was some advertisements of the game being posted around town, so it was real important to get off to a good start," Markos said.

Markos one of the additions this season made more saves than Martinez, as he along with Joe Koldziejczak continue to dominated the Bulldogs zone.

The Palm Beaver did manage to opened up the scoring in the first period, but the lead did not last long as the Bulldogs would beat the Palm Beavers goalie from short range shots on goal throughout the night.

The Bulldogs never relinquished the lead for the remainder of the game, even though some did questioned, would a better opponent capitalize on some errors made throughout the game.

"We didn't play with preparation," goalie Martinez said. "Yea we won and I'll take it, but on a night where it was clear that I stunk up the place, I wish there was a little more consitancy rather than show boat tactics".

The win leaves the Bulldogs in 1st place of the Division and now comes the second half of the season which begins this Thursday night against Puckin Awsome at the Darien Sportsplex.

The Good:

  • Offense- Wow... these guys are good. Everyone hit the zone hard and kept the puck in where it should be. A little more back-checking would be nice though.
  • Defense- Once again, very solid.. made more saves than Martinez
  • Goaltending- A win is a win.... should have done better though.

The Bad:

  • The Show-  Un-named Bulldog decided to show off a bit.. which is not the end of the world. Lets make sure we have a double digit lead though.

 The Ugly:

  • None
