Goalies:

Bulldogs, Alex Martinez

Player(s) of the Game:

Joe Koldziejczak

Big Joe along with Ted Markos has been a great addition to the Bulldogs defense this season. Little is known about Joe as he tends to do his talking on the ice with big goals in key moments and big stop's on "D".

 GAME RECAP

BULLDOGS Puckin Awesome Date/Time Rink
9 3 03/02/2008 Darien Sportsplex

March 7th, 2008- Goalie Alex Martinez was not feeling good this past Tuesday night as he was coughing his lung out and popping cherry flavored "Halls" the entire night, however having one of the stingiest defense in the league is a sure plus on nights like these as the Bulldogs beat Puckin Awesome 9-3.

Joe Koldziejczak and Chris Gaczorek each had two goals for the Bulldogs, who got off to a fast start with 2 goals in the first period. It was Koldziejczak  first 2-goal game, and he also had an assist for a league total of 13 points. Gaczorek continues to be the little terror on the ice as he has 10 total points this season.

Assistant Captain Mike Mancuso made his prediction before the game."I said,  You know, it's just going to have to be one of those games where everybody's clicking and we win something ridiculous like 9-2,"' Mancuso said.

In the 1st period the Bulldogs were surprised that the winless Puckin Awesome, well were winless. Puckin Awesome attacked as soon as the puck dropped and looked like a young and fast team. With both teams getting several scoring opportunities the 1st frame ended with the Bulldogs having a 2-1 lead.

The Bulldogs tried following the 1st period with some goals, but that would not be the case. Even though they had crisp passing and pressured Puckin Awesome, both teams ended the frame not giving up a goal and going into the 3rd with the Bulldogs still leading 2-1.

What happened in the third who knows, but the game started getting a bit chippy. Perhaps frustration kicking in on Puckin Awesome as Sick Boy Martinez was stopping the few chances the Defense allowed.

The Floodgates would open on Puckin Awesome goalie and allow 7 goals in the 3rd, while Martinez did allow 2 of his own ending the game 9-3 Bulldogs.

We weren't trying to do anything fancy, we were just trying to outwork them," Martinez said. ""I think everybody was anxious to get out there tonight and contribute, it feels good to win."

The Bulldogs are now on a 6 game winning streak and are unbeaten in league play.

Notes- Bulldogs signed Dan Difalta...... welcome aboard.

The Good:

  • Offense- Everyone did their part with pressure in the opponents zone and keeping the puck out of the hands of Puckin Awesome.
  • Defense- Very Tough and could be the best in the league at the moment.
  • Goaltending- Solid.

The Bad:

  • None

 The Ugly:

  • None
