December 20th,
2006-
'Twas
the night before Christmas, when all through the house
Not a creature was stirring, not even Darflers mouse;
The Bulldogs’s stockings were hung by the chimney with
care,
In hopes that once again, this would be their year.
The Karim
brothers were nestled all snug in their beds,
While visions of scoring danced in their heads.
And Seth in his 'kerchief, and Maher in his PING cap,
Had just settle down for a long winters nap.
When
out on the lawn there arose such a clatter,
Sam sprang from the bed to see what was the matter.
Away to the window he flew like a flash,
When he was jersey’d once again, and it opened up a
gash.
The
moon on the breast of the new-fallen snow,
Gave the lustre of mid-day to objects below.
When, what to Sam's swollen eyes should appear,
But Martinez and the crew, with several cases of beer,
With
Martinez the goalie, who was round but not tall,
With a mic in his hand, he resembled Beach Ball.
They partied throughout the night, and the morning it
came,
14 guys drunk on beers, man what a shame!
Now Darlfer! now Monty! now Nolan! now Senne!
On
Gay Moose, on Frankie, on Joey's on Feeney!
To the top of the standings! to the top of the wall!
Now dash away! dash away! Will the Bulldogs fall?
They were dressed in Blue and Silver, from their
head to their feet,
But their image was tarnished on a 9-2 defeat.
A bundle of boys he had flung on his back,
No longer was Darf around, to pull his sneak attack.
Last defeat, was still fresh in their heads,
Facing the MIB in the playoffs, was something they
dread.
Continuing to boast and talking their smack,
A game they couldn’t forget, no time for
a flashback.
In the loss, Bulldogs fans would watch Nolan ride
the pine;
Could have beat the shit of the other player, had he
developed a spine.
His one shift of the game, would see him skate and
hit Full House's tower,
He would be the first Bulldog, to get warm water in
the shower.
His good buddy Martinez, would not fare much better;
He was left standing at goal, over his head was his
sweater.
The Bulldogs would find themselves slowly running
out of gas;
When Maher was rocked for admiring his pass.
He spoke not a word, but went straight to the room,
He knew that facing Full House would be full of
doom.
Full House brought in all of their fans, that we
call skum,
A 9-2 win to the Bulldogs, was only a sign of things
to come?
With 8 wins now, and several teams tied,
Once again the Bulldogs are playing with pride.
Will 2007 be the Bulldogs year?
We want to announce, the real Bulldogs are here.
Putting the troops through the drills and through
the paces,
GM Martinez may have to bring a couple of new
faces.
But one that is wanted by teams in the league,
Is one tough old fart, who goes by the name John
Reeg.
The Old fart will be coming tonight, putting gifts
under your tree,
Cherish them with pride, because this is the only
gift the Bulldogs will see.
Will Bulldogs win the AHSL Crown, yeah, sure, right!
HAPPY CHRISTMAS TO ALL, AND TO ALL A GOOD-NIGHT
The Good:

All Heart: Where some Bulldog lack
in talent, they make up in Heart. Not letting up
to what was obliviously an over matched game.
The Bad:

in the weeks to come as Amateurs have been forced
