March 2nd,
2007-
If youre going to be awake, playing
hockey at 9:15pm at night, you might as well put some
effort into it. The most passion on the bench this past
Tuesday night was shown by few Bulldogs, who were
getting frustrated by the lack of positioning out there.
The other Bulldogs were amazed at the skill level being
shown and also amazed that someone on their team would
actually put that much effort into the game.
Good thing the Bulldogs are not
sponsored by a coffee shop. If that was the case
these guys would be an embarrassment to caffeine.
If youre going to sport a Bulldog logo on your
chest, you better have more jump in your stride than
youre showing commented GM, Alex Martinez. Either
that, or start looking for another team that better
represents your playing style. Martinez continued
Perhaps there's a local
barbiturate sponsored team that for a small fee
will place their dial-a-dope cell number on the back
of your jersey.
The Bulldogs were missing some
players off the regular line-up. Did it happen to be
the best? Im thinking it may have. Tony Feeney and
Joey Koehler were called up, in the mist of the NHL
trading deadline to their respective NHL teams,
while Mike Mancuso was in surgery for receiving the
beating of his life from his wife who eventually
found out what really happened in Eagle River last
weekend.
You shouldnt be too surprised to
learn that the Bulldogs were out shot 37 - 25 on
Tuesday night. In fact Im surprised the Bulldogs
hit double-digits on shots. The time keeper took
pity, I suspect, and started counting passes. The
Bulldogs would end up losing to the Gear Daddies
5-3.
The Bulldog will face the Barracudas
this coming Tuesday at 9:30pm. If the Bulldogs
regulars show they may have a fighting chance to
keep the shot difference down in the teens.
Notes- Defenseman
James Senne has been suspended for 1 game. He is
expected to return on March 13th vs. The Rams.

The
Good:
- Tony Feeny-
Feeney has always wanted an opportunity to show
his stuff against his rival foes, the Redwings of
Detroit. However, Feeney would not set foot on the
ice as he was late to the game due to his pre-game
celebration with his buddies at Blackies. Tony was
released the next day by the Chicago Blackhawk's.
- Joey Koehler- Joey Koehler on the other
hand impressed Florida Panthers management and
will be playing for the Panthers for the next two
weeks.
The
Bad:
Its obvious that the lack of practice is catching up
to these Dogs. They have dropped their last 5 games
and hope this is enough to get them back into the
swing of things.
Penalties:
And the
NEW penalties leading team in the ASHL is? You guessed
it, the Chicago Bulldogs, what an embarrassment.
The
Ugly:
Both
refs (Ray Wananbe Tyrakowski & Roger Ho Chi Min
Ranay looked pretty bad in making some non-calls
and some over the top calls on both teams. Perhaps
Rays still bitter for not doing anything past
Junior B.
