No one looked healthier or happier in the Chicago
Bulldogs dressing room than Alex Martinez. This
Goaltender stopped 43 of the 46 shots as the Bulldogs
held on to win 5-3 over the Green Berets on Tuesday
night.
Martinez
had been among of the sick as a gastro-intestinal virus
raged through the team last week. But the entire squad
reported healthy this time for the exception of a player
or two who still had some effects leaving the locker
room air with an unusual smell.
'It's good to go out and not feel tired,' said Mancuso,
a 7-goal man this season who got his 6th and 7th goals.
'Definitely it was a hard week for me and some other
guys, I left them something in the locker room early
on, I think that may have woken them up and geared up
for the game.
Mancuso scored twice in the first period along with John
Reeg adding his first goal of the season. The Green
Berets who are in first place seemed shocked to be down
3-0 after only one period.
In the second period Joe Van Grimbergen tallied a goal
that would end up being the game winner, but the
Bulldogs were not done, little Joey Koehler would blow
past the Greens Berets and score on a power play goal in
the third.
'When you give up breakaways in the first minute, not to
mention being short a few players, it's tough,' said
Bulldogs Captain Joe Van Grimbergen, 'We played a pretty
solid game, guys stepped up.
The Bulldogs being out-shot throughout the game 46 to 23
had no concerns, goalie Alex Martinez stopped most of
what came his way having one of this better nights,
winning his 10th game of the season.
'The fans have been there for me so many times on
different occasions and getting a standing ovation
really felt good,' said and imagined Martinez. 'There
was five minutes late in the third I panicked a bit and
let up , but the team stay focused and got these two
points.
Notes- The Chicago Bulldogs will be

currently looking for sponsors and note that all players

The
Good:
Offense: Having two Centers seemed to fail, but
both Centers played well on both ends of the ice.
Defense: The defense once again held the line
at key moments.
Goaltending:
Was solid and kept the Green Berets guessing all
night.
The
Bad:
Bastards!!! where are they? playing hooky from
hockey.
The
Ugly:
-
Green Berets Goalie: This guy emailed the
Chicago Bulldogs several weeks back offering his
services, little did he know that the Bulldogs
goalie is also team President, GM, Website designer,
Sr. Editor, Secretary, treasurer, Beer man and baby
sitter.
